Dickinson Exhibits at American University Art Museum

Jessica Dickinson (Painting ’99 ) is part of a new group exhibition, New Ruins at American University Art Museum.  The artists work in the show foregrounds the specific temporal, material, and tactile aspects of painting as subject. Physical processes such as rubbing, layering, building, wearing away and, on occasion, obliterating combine to offer an alternative to the traditional painter’s mark, altering perception of time and presence.  The exhibition runs through March 12, 2017.
