Kaneko Speaks with “Alive Magazine” about his Life and Practice

Past Artist-in-Residence Jun Kaneko (Ceramics AIR, 1979-1986) speaks with Columbus’ Alive Magazine about his life and practice.  “Creative energy is nothing special. It’s just like a heartbeat. Without it, I’m dead. I need art to survive,” he says. “If you’re a practical thinker, you shouldn’t do art. You don’t think practically about how to make your heart beat. It’s a necessity. Art is the necessity of your being.”
