Carla Diana Discusses Her Path Back to Cranbrook

Carla Diana talks with The Cooper Union about her path to starting the 4D Design department at Cranbrook. She selected Cranbrook for herself as a student because, “I felt that the rigorous discourse in art and design would be a great complement to my solid technical background, and it was a great way to have the best of both worlds.” It proved correct, as Diana went on to hold prestigious positions at institutions incorporating both disciplines. Her vision for Cranbrook’s 4D Design program is for it to serve as “as a bustling laboratory focused on creative applications of emerging technology. Its mission will be to explore and question all the ways that the physical world around us has become infused with an undercurrent of flowing data, turning everyday experiences into interactive exchanges.” Read the full story here.
