Formerly called designinform, Arts: Search focuses on the history of modern design and applied arts. It consists of three parts:
* Design Abstracts Retrospective (DAR) – An ongoing abstracting and indexing service that covers many of the most important design and applied arts journals and annuals published during the twentieth century. Titles in the initial releases have been selected because of their outstanding international coverage and breadth of scope. DAR covers articles on all forms of design, from architecture to embroidery.
* Arts + Architecture ProFILES (AAP) – A biographical dictionary of modern designers, craftspeople, artists and architects, covering the same subject fields as DAR. It includes profiles of every single designer, architect, craftsperson, studio, workshop, etc. whose work is discussed or illustrated in the journals and yearbooks covered by DAR.
* reVIEW (Full Text) – Digitized, searchable versions of nineteenth and early twentieth century art journals. Titles currently available include Art et Décoration, The Craftsman, L’image, Kunst und Handwerk, The Poster/The Poster and Art Collector, The Studio, The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art, and many more. The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals database offers a comprehensive listing of journal articles on architecture and design, including bibliographic descriptions. It contains over 600,000 entries surveying over 2,500 American and international journals in the fields of archaeology, architecture, architectural design, city planning, furniture and decoration, historic preservation, history of architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and urban planning. Humanities Full Text includes many of the most important academic journals in the humanities with the full text of articles from over 300 periodicals dating back to 1995, and high-quality indexing for almost 700 journals—of which 470 are peer-reviewed—dating as far back as 1984. The database provides coverage of feature articles, interviews, bibliographies, obituaries, and original works of fiction, drama, poetry and book reviews, as well as reviews of ballets, dance programs, motion pictures, musicals, radio and television programs, plays, operas, and more.
JSTOR is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mission to create and maintain a trusted archive of important scholarly journals, and to provide access to these journals as widely as possible. JSTOR offers researchers the ability to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. The journals archived in JSTOR span many disciplines. JSTOR is not a current issues database. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR.

The Oxford English Dictionary is the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium. It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past. It traces the usage of words through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources. It also offers the best in etymological analysis and in listing of variant spellings, and it shows pronunciation using the International Phonetic Alphabet. As the OED is a historical dictionary, its entry structure is very different from that of a dictionary of current English, in which only present-day senses are covered, and in which the most common meanings or senses are described first. For each word in the OED, the various groupings of senses are dealt with in chronological order according to the quotation evidence. In a complex entry with many strands, the development over time can be seen in a structure with several "branches."
