More than two dozen local alumni from Cranbrook Art Academy in Bloomfield Hills have come together for a special exhibition in downtown Detroit this month. Many of the artists that graduated from Cranbrook Academy in the past decade have elected to stay in the Detroit area, contributing to growth of the area’s burgeoning art scene, which has attracted national attention. BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICH., May 11, 2018 — On the eve of its 2018 commencement ceremonies, Cranbrook Academy of Art celebrated another year of outstanding work by its graduate students at its annual Academy Awards Night on May 10.
Before a gathering of more than 200 students, families, friends and donors in deSalle auditorium at Cranbrook Art Museum, the Academy distributed more than $250,000 in fellowships, grants, awards, and scholarships. The awards are designed to support study at the Academy and to aid 2018 graduates in the transition from student to practicing artist.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICH., May 7, 2018 — Cranbrook Academy of Art today announced that Carla Diana has been named Designer-in-Residence and will oversee the Academy’s new 4D Design program.
