DESCRIPTION:Guadalupe Maravilla creates and choreographs fictionalized performance rituals\, objects and drawings that incorporate his pre-colonial Central American ancestry\, personal mythology\, and autobiography. Through multidisciplinary\, often collaborative performances and drawings\, Maravilla traces the history of his displacement\, interrogates the parallels between pre-Columbian cultures and our border politics\, and how these parallels are transformed through the process of hybridization. \nSponsored by the Print Media Department \nAll lectures are free and held in deSalle Auditorium at Cranbrook Art Museum.
