Lee's "Yellow Forest" Is On Display at Philidelphia International Airport

January 11th, 2017

A massive work by alumna Mi-Kyoung Lee (Fiber ’98) titled “Yellow Forest” is currently on display in Terminal E of the Philadelphia International Airport. Part of the facility’s Art at the Airportexhibition program, the 40-foot by nine-foot sculptural form is created entirely out of thousands of industrial plastic twist ties, knotted together to bind the huge amounts of material into a singular structure. In “Yellow Forest,” she has used the twist ties to create a field of color and texture that resembles a living wall. The piece will be up through May 2017.
