Matelli’s First Solo Exhibition in San Francisco is at The David Ireland House

Tony Matelli’s (Sculpture ’95) first solo exhibition in San Francisco is being shown at The David Ireland House. I hope all is well… presents a series of highly produced, representational artworks using materials such as bronze, marble, and silicone. The end result is anything but traditional sculpture. Matelli’s artworks are lifelike, seductive, and beautifully wrong. His hyper realistic sculptures are often mistaken for the actual thing, undermining the viewer’s expectations of what they could or should see in an art institution. The exhibition is held from June 23-October 13, 2018.
