James Hubbell, who studied Sculpture at the Art Academy is profiled in the San Diego Union-Tribune

James Hubbel was drafted into the Army and stationed in Korea for 14 months in the 1950s and began absorbing the art in Asia. After his tour of duty, he entered the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. There, Hubbell wanted to study painting, but those courses were full, so he ended up studying sculpture.
