Waylande Gregory Exhibition On View at Alfred Ceramic Art Museum

Art Historian Thomas C. Folk discusses the exhibit at opening, joined by Wayne Higby, Director of the Museum

The Alfred Ceramic Art Museum is currently showing an exhibition of Waylande Gregory’s sculptures, The 1930’s Jazz Age Sculpture of Waylande Gregory. Gregory is known as a premier American ceramic artist of the 1930s and was the second Artist-in-Residence of Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Waylande studied at the Chicago Art Institute and worked for the Cowan Pottery Studio in Cleveland, OH before coming to Cranbrook.

The 1930’s Jazz Age Sculpture of Waylande Gregory will be on view through July 26, 2020. Read more about the exhibition here.
