Cranbrook Academy of Art the Go-To Art School for Mid-Century Masters and Today's Designers on 1st Dibs

1st Dibs featured Cranbrook Academy of Art, describing its history and current status as a go-to art school for the greats of the mid-century era and today’s up-and-coming designers. Through the blockbuster exhibition, With Eyes Opened: Cranbrook Academy of Art Since 1932, at Cranbrook Art Museum the story of the Academy comes to life through 275 works by more than 220 artists.

When the Academy first opened, its studio focus, lack of traditional classes, and working Artists-in-Residence were a radical approach to the education and development of artists. The independence for students and the close-knit working community makes the Cranbrook experience stand apart from similar schools to this day.
