James Benjamin Franklin ‘s (Painting ’17) third solo exhibition opening at Reyes|Finn in Detroit, Michigan on January 15, 2022. Franklin is known for his vibrant, energetic paintings anchored within hand-built, instinctively-shaped, plaster-sculpted frames. He incorporates found textiles such as carpets, afghans, bathroom mats, and kitchen rags, with epoxy, acrylic, rubber, sand and glitter into his work, creating a unique visual language.
