Natalie Wadlington’s (Painting ’20) solo exhibition, Places That Grow, at Dallas Contemporary features a new series of figurative paintings in her signature style. A California native, Wadlington moved to Texas after completing her MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Wadlington’s interpretations of our relationship with the natural world continue. Her paintings present whimsical, semi-autobiographical worlds for viewers to explore.

Wadlington utilizes colors inspired by the skies of Texas, which have become major characters in these works. Water and figures’ skin reflect these tones, furthering the impact of the sky.

Natalie Wadlington: Places The Grow is on view through August 21, 2022.
