Each year, Design Core Detroit presents the September Detroit Month of Design, a citywide celebration of creativity that gathers designers and the greater community to celebrate Detroit’s role as a national and global design capital.

Cranbrook Academy of Art, our alumni, and students representing all eleven departments can be found in the 2022 Detroit Month of Design special events, exhibitions, installations, and open studios.

  • Craft in the Digital Age at Ford House
    An exhibition featuring 35 local artists creates a dialogue between technologically-produced and inspired design and the traditional Ford House collection.
    Participating alumni and students include: Aaron Blendowski (3D Design ’06), Caroline Del Guidice (Sculpture ’20), Cody Norman (3D Design ’20), Lilian Crum (2D Design ’12), Victoria Shaheen (Ceramics ’13), Shaina Kasztelan (Painting ’24).
