Head of Ceramics, Ian McDonald, Opens Solo Exhibition at Patrick Parrish Gallery
Ian McDonald, Head of Ceramics and Artist-in-Residence at Cranbrook Academy of Art, opens a new solo exhibition at Patrick Parrish Gallery in New York on Friday, March 3, 2023. Pillars, Resistors, Wheelers and Dealers features McDonald’s latest ceramic vessels, which pursue his continued interest in the swinging pendulum between pottery making through the lens of sculpture and sculpture construction through the framework of pottery. His process of hand-made improvisation mixed with moments of measurement ultimately produces an architectural landscape of studio ceramics.
Pillars, Resistors, Wheelers and Dealers is on view from March 3, 2023 through April 14, 2023. An opening reception will be held on March 3 from 6 – 8pm.
