Yvonne Pacanovsky Bobrowicz Solo Exhibition, The Cosmic Series, on View at Sapar Contemporary

Fiber artist Yvonne Pacanovsky Bobrowicz (1928-2022), alumna of Cranbrook’s Fiber department (1949), is featured in a solo exhibition, The Cosmic Series, at Sapar Contemporary Gallery in New York. The exhibition, including about 20 works, marks the first time Bobrowicz’s hand-knotted sculptures have been presented in New York City.
Barbara Stehle, Ph.D. curated the show and wrote an accompanying essay describing Bobrowicz’s influence on the industry’s recognition of fiber art as fine art. The essay explores her development as an artist from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1949 through her 70 years of practice.
The Cosmic Series is on view through June 8, 2024.
