Erika NJ Allen Highlighted Among Inspiring Artists in Movers & Makers Cincinnati

Erika NJ Allen (MFA Ceramics, 2023) was recently highlighted in Movers & Makers Cincinnati as an artist inspiring her local community. Nominated by Cal Cullen of the Haile Foundation and Wave Pool, Allen was recognized not only for her recent solo exhibition, This Is Not a Banana Republic, at the Weston Gallery, but also for her leadership in shaping the city’s arts landscape.
Allen teaches ceramics at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, co-leads SWELL café/bookstore/art space, runs community ceramics classes, launched the biennial Ohio Clay conference, and is currently collaborating with Shazia Sikander on a “Welcome Edition” project with Wave Pool and ArtWorks.
