Cranbrook Academy of Art alumna Katy Richards (MFA Painting 2014) is featured in a solo exhibition, Katy Richards: Fleeting Florals, on view at the Massillon Museum’s Studio M through January 25, 2026. Recently highlighted by The Massilon Independent, the exhibition presents a series of oil paintings that capture bouquets in various stages of wilting, reflecting on beauty, impermanence, and transformation.

Based in Cleveland, Richards explores the materiality of paint while engaging themes of life, death, and desire. Her works invite viewers to consider the fleeting nature of everyday moments and the importance of presence. A free public reception with the artist will be held on January 10, from 5–7 p.m., and a MassMusings podcast interview with Richards was released on January 6.

Richards has exhibited widely throughout Ohio and beyond. Her work has been recognized with numerous honors, including an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council.

Fleeting Florals is on view during regular museum hours at the Massillon Museum, where admission is always free.
