Hannah Chalew (MFA Painting 2016) writes an essay for the National Gallery of Art on the artist’s role in preserving Louisiana’s coastline. Her work explores what it means to live in a time of global warming with a collective uncertain future. In the essay, she discusses how her recent exhibition, Orphan Well Gamma Garden, shows her vision of the landscape we risk passing down to our descendants. Read it here.
