Forum Gallery is a student-run gallery space located on campus adjacent to Cranbrook Art Museum and within the Academy’s New Studios building. Each year, student gallery coordinators are hired to manage the space’s programming, exhibitions, installations, symposia, discussions, and impromptu events.
Exhibitions have included musical performances, video screenings, even Jell-O wrestling. While exhibitions are unique year-to-year, the First Year Exhibition, Second Year Exhibition, and International Student Exhibition have recurred regularly. The space provides an opportunity for students to exercise their curatorial skills and gives students another interdisciplinary opportunity for community-building.
At the end of each academic year, the multi-day Materials Exchange is hosted in Forum Gallery, where all community members can freely share supplies, clothing, furniture, and more.
