Natalie Wadlington Opens New Solo Exhibition at Library Street Collective
Natalie Wadlington (MFA Painting 2020) will open a new solo exhibition with Library Street Collective in Detroit, MI. Pollards is Waadlington’s second solo exhibition with the gallery and will feature various works including paintings, drawings, and sculpture.
The title, Pollards, refers to routinely trimmed upper branches of trees, in today’s urban settings, pollarding is used to keep ornamental trees at a certain height. In agriculture, it keeps branches young and prohibits animal grazing. Wadlington’s works also explore moments of growth and pruning, expansion and recoil, and the pollarding of our highest branches as we continue to reach upward and outward.
Pollards will be on view from January 20 through February 21, 2024. An opening reception will be held on January 20 from 6 to 8pm.
