New Jersey-based artist and Academy alumna Jessica Stoller (MFA Ceramics 2006) was just featured by Artnet as a ceramicist “pushing the boundaries” in the field of ceramics. Stoller challenges deep-seated misogyny and othering through the grotesque in her ceramic sculptures.
She is featured in a current group exhibition at Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, MI. Busted: Contemporary Sculpture Busts features 16 contemporary artists who explore the form of portrait bust sculpture. Unlike historical portrait busts of royalty and heroic individuals, this show is populated with a mix of friends, family, and fellow artists in a range of materials including wood, canvas, and glass. Busted is on view through September 21, 2025.
Stoller’s third solo exhibition with P.P.O.W. in New York City, Split, just closed in April 2025.
