Metalsmithing Alumna Juvana Soliven Among 2025 Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellows

Cranbrook Academy of Art is proud to celebrate alumna Juvana Soliven (MFA Metalsmithing 2016), who has been selected as a 2025 Joan Mitchell Fellow. The Joan Mitchell Fellowship, awarded by the Joan Mitchell Foundation, includes a $60,000 unrestricted grant distributed over five years, along with professional development, peer engagement, and network-building opportunities.

Soliven joins a cohort of 15 distinguished artists from across the United States, recognized for their innovative practices. As a Fellow, she will participate in virtual and in-person convenings, tailored workshops, and peer advisory sessions designed to support sustaining artistic careers.

Since this prestigious fellowship began in 2021, three other Academy alumni have received the fellowship: Ash Arder (MFA Fiber 2018), Jayoung Yoon (MFA Fiber 2009),  and Mie Kongo (MFA Ceramics 2008).
