Open Studios 2024
Visit Cranbrook Academy of Art and the Cranbrook Educational Community campus on Saturday, April 20, from 1-5pm! Please RSVP on Eventbrite (free) and let us know what you’re most looking forward to at Open Studios 2024.
OPEN STUDIOS is the only time of year the public can explore the studios of Cranbrook Academy of Art! Student artwork will be for sale.
- Explore the private studio spaces of Cranbrook Academy of Art
- Student art will be for sale
- Receive free admission to Cranbrook Art Museum, and Cranbrook Institute of Science (paid admission is required for Galileo, the Acheson Planetarium, and exploreLAB)
- Free special tours of Saarinen House hosted by the Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research
- Free self-guided tours of Cranbrook House & Gardens
- Food trucks (The Snack Suite, Hero or Villain, The Grilled Wrap, Taco Hernandez)
- Hands-on art activities for children
Check-in Locations
Primary check-in locations are Cranbrook Art Museum’s peristyle and at Cranbrook Academy of Art near the Academy Way and Lone Pine intersection. You may also check in at Cranbrook Institute of Science, Saarinen House, and Cranbrook House.
Parking and Transportation
Multiple free parking lots are available. Please note that the entire Cranbrook Art Museum parking lot is dedicated to Handicap Accessible visitors. Shuttles will run starting at 12:30pm from parking lots to points of interest, please see the map below.

Accessibility
The New Studios Building of Cranbrook Academy of Art, Cranbrook Art Museum, and Cranbrook Institute of Science are the only wheelchair-accessible areas during OPEN STUDIOS. There are publicly accessible bathrooms available. The New Studios Building houses the Cranbrook Academy of Art Ceramics and Fiber studios.
