Due to current recommendations regarding the coronavirus, we have cancelled OPEN(STUDIOS) for 2020.

Join us on Sunday, April 26, 2020, from 1-5pm, for our annual OPEN(STUDIOS) event. Visitors can tour the Academy of Art’s private studio spaces, meet with emerging artists and designers from the Academy’s 11 departments and purchase student work. This is the only time of the year when the public is invited inside the private Academy studio spaces!

OPEN(STUDIOS) is a FREE event!
Register through Eventbrite (COMING SOON) and also receive complimentary admission to the following Cranbrook attractions:

Cranbrook Art Museum: Tour the 2020 Graduate Degree Exhibition of Cranbrook Academy of Art, featuring the work of 65 graduating Academy students. Museum educators will also host a Spring Family Day with kid-friendly tours and hands-on art projects from 11am–2pm.

Cranbrook Institute of Science: Discover the wonder of the natural world and develop a better understanding of the ways in which science impacts our lives each day (paid admission required for exploreLab, Robot Revolution, and the Acheson Planetarium).

Saarinen House: This is the opening day of the historic former home of Eliel and Loja Saarinen, the jewel of Cranbrook’s architectural treasures.

Cranbrook House: Enjoy an open house at the Arts and Crafts-style manor designed by Albert Kahn for the founders of Cranbrook, George Gough Booth and Ellen Scripps Booth.

This is the perfect day to explore Cranbrook! Check-in at the main event table located outside of Cranbrook Art Museum or at any of the participating campus venues for information and maps. Visitors can park at any of the venues on campus and shuttles will also be running from the Kingswood and 550 Lone Pine Road parking lots. The event will be held rain or shine.

The 2020 Graduate Degree Exhibition of Cranbrook Academy of Art and OPEN(STUDIOS) are sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting emerging artists of all ages.
