Demario Dotson's First Solo Exhibition in Detroit "Reparations are Forever" Opens at What Pipeline
Demario Dotson’s (Print Media ’21) first solo exhibition in Detroit opens July 9, 2022 at What Pipeline. In Reparations are Forever, Dotson uses the visual language of comic book culture and glitch theory to explore the intersection of Black feminism and queer activism while disrupting the misogynoir and anti-Blackness in how Black superheroes are portrayed.
The exhibition is supported through funding by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Dotson was also recently awarded a 2022 Kresge Arts in Detroit Fellowship.
Reparations are Forever is on view from July 9 through August 27, 2022. An opening reception will take place on July 9 from 6 to 9pm at What Pipeline.
